When starting FSO2 for the very first time, it can come off as a little scary.
The game has a lot of features, and 9 times out of 10 someone will probably say hi to you.
Just Need Some Refresher Hints On Commands?
The Official Tutorial
Step One - New Character
Okay, you just downloaded and extracted First Star Online 2 - Mythology.
What do you do now?
Find the folder, it should be in your downloads folder, or on your desktop.
Double Click the FSO2 - Mythology Icon, and a window with First Star Online 2 Mythology on it will pop up.
Click: New Character
It will prompt you for an Email Address
We suggest that you input a legitimate one you may be reached at.
For a future points account, and incase you ever forget your password.
It is not mandatory though. :)
Once you have decided to either enter or not enter your email. Press Okay to continue.
Now you can change the way your avatar looks, enter in your username and password.
Once you have found a look that suits you, created your Username, and come up with a secure Password, press okay.
*We highly recommend that you try to include at least one character that is not A-Z it will help insure the security of your password.
There is a Stats section that lists the three main stats used on FSO2.
Strength - How hard you hit
Intelligence - Used for magic
Aim - If you hit or not
You get 5 points to distribute among these, be careful what you choose.
It is hard to raise these up farther in the game.
The next section is a Starting Profession there are three to choose from,
if this is your first time playing I recommend you choose Lumberjack.
Once you have chosen these options, press OK to enter into the game.
Step Two - Is This Real Life?
Now you will find yourself in a town named Enrai, you will see a
magic shop, and a weapons shop, take a moment to look around.
Click on the wand above the magic shop, it will open up a sign.
The sign reads:
"Cartra's Magic Shop
We Buy Mushrooms and Herbs"
Click on the sign that has come up to close it.
You will find lots of signs in the world of First Star Online 2,
many of them will be helpful and tell you things you need to know.
You can use the Arrows Keys to move around the screen, if you walk
down the path you can go to the next screen where you will find a
Lumberjacking shop.
Lets go inside the store, and see what they have to sell.
Once inside the store you will see Bill standing inside, walk over
to him and type Buy
A screen will come up showing that he sells logs for 13 gold, and
axes for 86 gold.
If you look in your inventory in the bottom right corner you will
notice that you have some items already. Click the small x in the
corner of the shop window.
Lets Right Click on the first item in our inventory.
A description will come up, telling us that this is an Axe.
From this window you can see the condition of an item, this is
important to keep track of, cause if the condition gets to brittle
it will break soon.
You can right click on the next two items as well they are Apples
and Ale, which you can eat and drink to get rid of hunger.
Step Three - The First Step To Becoming Immortal
Since we already have an axe lets leave the Lumberjacking shop and
go find some trees, when you step outside of the lumberjacking shop
you will see several trees. These are not trees that can be chopped down.
Lets follow the dirt path to the screen right, here you will see a NPC
named Polma walking around, we want to go down from this screen.
Follow the dock down.
You will see lots of little green trees, double click on the axe in your
inventory. It will get a yellow outline around it, that tells you it's
equipped.
Now walk over to a tree, and while facing it press alt.
(If you are using parallels you will need to push one alt and then the other.)
Hold alt down until the tree falls and logs appear on the screen.
Once logs have appeared press shift to pick them up.
(If you are using parallels you will need to push one shift and then the other.)
You can now see that there are logs in your inventory.
Lets follow the path back up, and go left back to the Lumberjacking shop.
Go inside the shop once you get to it.
Walk up to Bill and type Sell
A window will come up he buys Logs for 2 gold, and a Axe for 21 gold.
We want to sell him the Logs we just chopped down, if you have more than one
you can go down to the bottom of the screen where you see another x with a small
box next to it with the number 1 in it.
Click within this small box and type in the number of logs you have.
After doing this go up and click on Logs
Then press OK this will sell him the Logs you have.
You will now see gold coins in your inventory, they went in the empty spot after
the Logs. To clean up your inventory, you can press the green circle in the bottom
right corner of the entire screen.
It is highly recommended that you go and you continue to chop trees to get more Logs
which you can then sell for Gold.
If while you are lumberjacking your Axe breaks you can use the gold to get another one.
While lumberjacking you will likely get a message that pops up saying:
"*You have improved in Lumberjacking."
This means you have gotten another point in your Lumberjacking skill, if you click on
the axe symbol on the right side of your inventory, you can see all your skills.
When you get a skill up to 100 you will get a medal, for every medal you
get you become closer to being immortal.
